Emanuel County Institute FBLA Celebrates American Enterprise Day

Emanuel County Institute Future Business Leaders of America celebrated American Enterprise Day on November 13.  Mr. Del Brown, Emanuel County Board of Education Member and owner of Pinetucky Meats, was the guest speaker.  Officers told members the importance of celebrating American Enterprise Day and then Mr. Brown stressed the importance of small businesses.  Afterwards members enjoyed refreshments and time to interact.

American Enterprise Day was originally set aside by FBLA-PBL to salute and publicize the American free enterprise system and to teach other members and non-members about it. The importance of the American free enterprise system is very significant.  President Jimmy Carter first proclaimed Free Enterprise Day in 1980 to honor the system that comprises the backbone of the United States economy. It is a day that symbolizes the freedom granted to American citizens under the free enterprise system.
