SHS FBLA Learns from Service

Sonoraville’s FBLA members prepared for the upcoming 2017 year by volunteering in the community kitchen at the Voluntary Action Center (VAC). Over the summers and during our breaks, a group of members organized a time when they could volunteer at the VAC. Members helped to roll silverware before the meal, serve food and drinks during the meal, and clean the dining area and the kitchen after the meal. Our students recently rolled more than 1,200 silverware rolls during the month of October to assist the VAC. This experience of serving food for the less fortunate provided the members with a unique opportunity to learn from members of the community, and taught them that one of the most important rules of being a business leader is to give back to the community.
