Sonoraville High School’s Future Business Leader Mikayla Whitfield Selected Woman’s Club Youth of the Month

 

Mikayla Whitfield of Sonoraville High School was recognized as the Calhoun Woman’s Club Youth of the Month for the month of April.  Lisa Smith, her nominating teacher and FBLA adviser nominated Mikayla for this award based on her performance all four years in her business classes and for Mikayla’s leadership in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

Mikayla has taken an active role in FBLA and served as the President for Sonoraville High School FBLA for the past two years. She has been an officer for Region 8 the past three years. She is a pathway completer for the Small Business Development Pathway.  She has qualified to attend the national conference for FBLA for the past three years and will receive her Business Achievement Award for the America Level in Atlanta this June.  She is a top twelve place FBLA state winner in Healthcare. Smith said that “Mikayla plans to attend Valdosta State College in August and has a bright future ahead of her.”
