Champion Chapter is a new national-level chapter recognition program that will be offered this year. The full list of activities can be viewed by chapter advisers when they log in to the FBLA Leadership Community. The submission links are posted on the National FBLA website and all submissions must be made in a universally accessible URL (a website, a link to an accessible Google Drive, or a link to a Dropbox would meet the requirement).
Champion Chapter is similar to Georgia FBLA’s Chapter of the Year program, but with greater emphasis on activities instead of membership recruitment and competitive events. However, unlike Chapter of the Year, Champion Chapter has four seasonal phases, each of which has its own deadline. Many of the Champion Chapter activities will directly earn chapters points towards Chapter of the Year. In addition, chapters will earn 25 points towards Chapter of the Year for each phase of Champion Chapter they complete, with an additional 25 points awarded for completion of all four phases.
Summer Starter is the first phase, which can be submitted here and is due September 15. Chapters must earn 500 points (out of a maximum of 1,375 points) to be credited with completion of Summer Starter. Shaping Success is the next phase and is due October 31. Service Season is the next phase and is due December 15. CTE Celebration is the final phase and is due March 1. For these three phases, 1,500 points are required for a chapter to be credited with completion. Chapters are encouraged to complete activities (and store the required documentation locally) as soon as possible to minimize the risk that unforeseen circumstances will reduce the number of points they earn.
Chapters must earn 5,000 points to be designated as a Bronze chapter, 10,000 to be designated as a Silver chapter, and 15,000 to be designated as a Gold chapter. Chapter advisers of chapters that have earned the Bronze, Silver, or Gold levels will receive banners celebrating their respective achievements. In addition, chapters will receive certificates for every phase completed. Ribbons will be awarded to NFLC delegates of chapters that complete Summer Starter and/or Shaping Success and also to NLC delegates for each level or phase their chapter has earned or completed respectively. Chapter members at FLC and SLC will also receive ribbons at those conferences. The 10 local chapters with the greatest number of points accumulated throughout the year will receive plaques at NLC. Finally, Georgia FBLA is competing with other states to win the award for the top state in Champion Chapter, so we need every local chapter to progress as far as possible in Champion Chapter.
