December and the holiday season are just around the corner! A Holiday Party is the perfect social event to bring your chapter closer together as you celebrate the spirit of the season.
This gathering will give your chapter a much needed break from competition preparation and energize your members. Having a party where you all can relax and enjoy each other’s company is one way you can ensure members stay engaged in chapter activities in the future. One activity that you can do during this event is to decorate gingerbread cookies. Officers can bring frosting and sprinkles to make this activity a festive success. You can even have a competition where the best cookie decorator wins a prize! Consider setting up a photo area with holiday signs and Santa hats where members can take pictures with their friends. This is a great way to wind down for the end of the semester so that your members can be refreshed and ready for Region and State Conferences in the spring semester.
Using this event as a way to perform community service is a great way to give back in the holiday season. Encourage your members to bring a toy to donate to children in need such as the US Marines Toys for Tots program or your chapter can collect canned goods to donate to a local food shelter. Regardless of the activity, your chapter will improve and strengthen the lives of others in your community while having fun at the same time!
We hope your chapter will enjoy these activities and share your pictures with us! Happy Holidays!
