Competitive event season is fast approaching and new members will want to know what events will be the best fit for them. Returning members will want to know what new competitions are offered and what changes have been made to the rating sheets and competitive event descriptions. To help the chapter complete the competitive event sign-up process efficiently, the student can create a presentation of the different competitive events.
By creating an advertisement, presentation, or audio public service announcement promoting the FBLA competitive events program, the member can complete Activity #22 under the Progress category of the Leader Level. This will require extensive research of the competitive event descriptions on the National FBLA website, and it will require after-school work sessions. In order to expedite the process, students can work together to become experts on the different competitive events offered by FBLA.
To get the most out of this activity, the chapter can also hold a competitive event informational meeting in which the students present their research of the competitive events and speak to members about what competitive event the “experts” feel will interest the member. This activity does not have to be hard! Create a team of students to complete this activity and divide the work load evenly!
