South Forsyth High School’s FBLA organization makes community service a priority. Members have the chance to participate in many service events, and the most recent activity was the Holidays for Heros card-making activity, which was a part of a school-wide project. With Holidays around the corner, the entire chapter met to make holiday cards for soldiers and veterans. As a chapter, South Forsyth FBLA talked about what these brave soldiers were sacrificing and what each student had to be thankful for.
Making these cards in a collaborative environment helped members improve their communication skills. Many had the opportunity to talk to someone new, whom they had never spoken to before. Each member had a chance to express their own creativity to give their thanks, whether it was writing a long, heartfelt note or drawing a colorful picture. As a whole, the chapter made over 230 cards!
