SHS’s Catherine F. was selected as Woman’s Club Youth of the Month
Catherine F. of Sonoraville High School was recognized as the Calhoun Woman’s Club Youth of the Month for the month of November. Lisa Smith, her nominating teacher, and FBLA adviser nominated Catherine for this award based on her performance throughout middle school and high school and for Catherine’s leadership in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Catherine is the first student in the history of Sonoraville High School to be elected to a State FBLA Officer position for the 25,000+ student organization and to serve under Smith’s direction.
Catherine is a strong academic student, ranking in the top percentage of her class. She has qualified to attend the national conference for FBLA for the past two years and received her Business Achievement Award for the America Level in Atlanta this past June. She placed First on the state level in Healthcare in 2016.
Smith is impressed with Catherine due to not only her brains, her athletic abilities, her leadership abilities, but her amazing time management skills.
