Houston County High School FBLA kicked off the new school year at their first annual chapter meeting on August 17, 2016 in the Senior Dining room. The event was open to all students at Houston County High School and more than 100 students were in attendance. The 2016-2017 Chapter officers publicized, recruited, and welcomed students to the chapter meeting by informing them that it was their Time to Shine with Georgia FBLA. At the meeting, officers Hope, Keerti, Katlyn, and Kyrsten led the crowd in a fun game of Gorilla, Man, Gun which encouraged networking and teamwork. Afterward, officers Nivedha, Alex, Monica, Sabina, and Tam encouraged members to leave behind their Legacy by getting involved and promoting FBLA throughout the community. After a brief presentation of pictures and memories from the previous year, pizza, chips, and drinks were given out to those in attendance and officers socialized and answered questions from members. The first meeting was a success and Houston County FBLA looks forward to another successful year!
