Houston County FBLA Helps With Adult Computer Class

On the evening of Monday, October 17th, 2016, members of the Houston County High School FBLA Chapter volunteered their time to promote technology education among the Warner Robins community. Students Monica T., Katlyn S., Sabina A., Tam T., Han T., Devin H., and Anjali P. participated and spent the two and a half hours at the Houston County Career Academy aiding participants in setting up Twitter, Facebook, and other social media accounts. Students also answered miscellaneous questions and advised participants of the computer class on how to best reduce security risks when using social media. The volunteers had a blast educating adults about the usefulness of social media and the ways that social media connects people around the world. Not only were FBLA volunteers able to teach others about social media and identity theft precautions, but they were also able to aid the participants in a tour of the Houston County Career Academy facilities. Overall, volunteering at the Adult Computer Class was a rewarding experience for Houston County High School’s FBLA chapter.
