On Tuesday, August 14, 2018, Bleckley County High School hosted the annual Career Technical Student Organization’s (CTSO) kickoff party. We invited FFA, HOSA, FCCLA, and FBLA members as well as non-members. We came together as CTSO officers to recruit new members and get the students of BCHS involved.
We met as CTSO officers to get the party started on August 6, 2018. During this meeting we decided which club would play what game and the food items that each of us would provide. We came up with several ideas that we thought would make it the best it could be for our members and students.
The day of the meeting we met at 3:15 p.m. in the BCHS lunchroom and gave the students time to get settled in. We then provided snacks such as cookies, brownies, chips and dip, and so much more. We also had tea, water, and lemonade to drink. As they were enjoying their snacks, the officer team from each club came up and introduced themselves and then briefly told about their club and some of their activities throughout the year.
We then split into groups which were determined by each person’s birthday month. Each club prepared its own ice breaker, and the students visited each club for about 10 – 15 minutes, then rotated until each group had been to ever club.
Once that was over the students headed outside for an amazing time. Outside were water games, corn hole, and a 48 foot long and 20 foot high waterslide. We had a huge turnout and hope to gain many new members through the annual Bleckley County High School CTSO kickoff.
