With the new school year beginning, it’s time for school supplies shopping! However, many teachers and students aren’t able to purchase the school supplies for their classroom or themselves. This is why August’s service challenge is to donate school supplies to teachers or students.
Your FBLA chapter can create a School Supplies dropoff box near your adviser’s classroom. Encourage your members to donate paper, scissors, crayons, and anything else you feel teachers and students need for the school year. If your members are feeling ambitious, challenge them to pack backpacks with school supplies, and put them in the dropoff box.
Don’t forget to take pictures as members are dropping items in the dropoff box, and when your chapter donates the items. The pictures your chapter captures can help your chapter earn Chapter of the Year points. To earn these points, post the pictures on your chapter’s social media accounts under the hashtag, #gafblaservicechallenge by September 1. Additionally, tag @georgiafbla in the caption.
This service challenge is a great way to get old and new members involved in FBLA at the beginning of the school year.
