Bleckley FBLA Member Places 3rd in Nation in MOS National Championship Event

Haley B. is a 2018 Bleckley County High School Graduate. She made it her year goal to achieve every possible MOS Certification that she could before graduating. She wanted one of each! Along the journey to meet her goal, Haley took MOS PowerPoint. Haley achieved a perfect score in less than 20 minutes. It was amazing how quickly she moved through each of the tasks with confidence.

In May we received information that Haley had achieved Georgia Champion status for MOS PowerPoint 13 and was invited to compete in the US National Competition. Haley originally thought the email was SPAM and almost deleted the email, but thankfully contacted me first. We spoke and I let her know it was NOT SPAM! She truly had become the Georgia MOS Champion in PowerPoint 2013.

Haley immediately began to research and prepare for the competition. I am so happy I was able to go with her to Atlanta for the competition. We had tons of fun playing UNO in the Student Lounge, she played Jumbo Jenga with a Certiport Intern, Lola’s GPS kept trying to take us the wrong way down one-way streets, we adventured the skybridges and what remains of the PeachTree Mall, we laughed lots, and enjoyed our time.

When Haley had completed the exam, she felt confident in her choices and actions, but concerned she did not complete the test which we learned later should not be able to be completed in the allotted 50 minutes. We were so excited that her efforts of preparation paid off and she was able to make it to the stage. Haley won a $750 Scholarship Fund for her efforts. We are so happy for her!

Congratulations Haley B!
