National Fall Leadership Conference
FBLA officers Maisi C., Sophie K., and Amanda K. with adviser Melissa Barker went to Birmingham, Alabama. The group of officers on the way there stopped at multiple Goodwills in search for extra business clothes which are kept in Mrs. Barker’s classroom for any students who may need them for performance events. Through these stops the officers were able to grow their bond by having some fun on the way to Alabama. The group also dropped by Panda Express to eat where they discussed some activities they would be involved in at the conference like leadership training and teamwork bonding.
Throughout the night the officers later were also able to discuss some future events and changes they would like to see within our chapter. Order a dinner from Panera Bread (There is a serious story there!) To relax after an adventure for supper we all had face masks to rejuvenate from our travels. The next day was when the real business started, the officers as well as Mrs.Barker participated in numerous workshops in which they were shown how to prepare to compete in testing and performance events, prepare for college, how to get the most out of FBLA, and how to better ourselves as a team. Officers Corbin, Knight, and Kight were all able to gain an experience that would last a lifetime, by going into these workshops with some of the most phenomenal speakers you could ever meet and being able to take home the knowledge that would be able to help them go from region to state and eventually to nationals as well.
