Bowdon High School Future Business Leaders of America Take a Behind-the-Scenes Tour of IKEA in Atlanta
The Bowdon High School FBLA visited IKEA in Atlanta on Friday, September 14, 2018. Members were met at the entrance by Brenda Lovelady the Communications and Events Planning Specialist. She welcomed the group and led them upstairs to the conference room where Manager Jill Matherson shared the history of IKEA. The FBLA chapter learned business techniques that make IKEA such a successful business today. Students learned the history of IKEA as well as skills they could apply themselves in business situations in life. Matherson called in employees to share their story, talked about benefits, and told of career opportunities available at IKEA. After a short video, the group was divided and taken on a tour of the store with a marketing representative who gave further insight on the business. Lunch was provided in the IKEA cafeteria where the students ate Swedish food before they returned to Bowdon High.
