With a pandemic and a new school year on our hands, Lambert FBLA hit the ground running in August, completing SLOTS, setting up new meetings, recruiting members, planning socials, setting up fundraisers, and more. The semester drew on, each month bolstering fun, community events. Here is a quick recap on the highlights of our first half of the year.
August: Ice Cream Social
Joining forces with other CTSO’s, FBLA constructed a social event for recruiting new members, helping students find their passions for leadership and business with the perfect sweet treat. We were able to connect with new and old members over bowls of vanilla and chocolate ice cream brimming with crushed Oreos, marshmallows, chocolate sauce, and more. Representative Todd Jones also joined in on the fun!!
September: Freshman Officer Elections
A new year meant new freshman officers, and we kicked off our introduction meeting for all interested with a breakfast bonding!
October: Trunk-or-Treat
October means Halloween, and Halloween means Trunk-Or-Treat! This season, our members and officers decorated two trunks for the school-wide club event. It was amazing to see children in costumes ready to play (and eat) all we had in store for them. Huge shoutout to all we donated their time and candy to this event!
November: FBLA Spirit Week and FLC
In November, Lambert FBLA celebrated Spirit Week, dressing up in blue and gold, business apparel, and school and FBLA spirit. Later that month, our officers, advisors, and members went to FLC in Athens, where we were able to explore UGA campus, learn about leadership in workshops, and network with FBLA members of other chapters across GA.
December: Canned Food Drive
Our members fundraised immensely for our canned food drive for FeedGA, bringing in around 1,800 cans/items!! This Christmas season, we were able to give back to our community, learn to not take what we have for granted, and raid our local grocery stores for their canned goods.
On to 2022! We have a lot more in store! Hopefully some of the items shared above can give your chapter some ideas of how to achieve higher heights with FBLA!
