Ten FBLA members from Emanuel County Institute attended the Georgia FBLA Summer Leadership & Officer Training Summit (SLOTS) at Swainsboro High School where over 250 FBLA members from throughout central and south Georgia attended the training.
This training workshop is meant to prepare local chapter officers and other leaders for upcoming duties and roles. In addition, chapter officers work with advisers to develop or refine the program of work and plan chapter strategy for the upcoming year. The mission behind this training is to develop a stronger officer team through chapter strategic planning sessions.
When members arrived at SLOTS, they participated in several ice breaker challenges. They were then split into classes based on their officer position and within each class, members worked on tasks associated with their specific position. Next, all participating members were brought back together to enjoy a pizza lunch. Then members were to share activities about their chapter from the previous year. A chapter representative from each school then shared with the entire group a “one minute” success story. MacKayla Oglesby, chapter president, discussed how ECI FBLA has excelled in the past year. Members then worked on team building activities and the 2017-2018 FBLA Program of Work.
