ECI FBLA celebrated March of Dimes World Prematurity Friday, November 17 by participating in Blue Jeans for Babies. Students were asked to pay a small fee to dress down that would allow them to wear blue jeans for the day. They were also encouraged to wear a purple shirt, as it is the color that represents premature birth. Many local businesses and other schools teamed up with our chapter in raising money to help this cause.
FBLA’s national service partner, the March of Dimes, is a cause dedicated to raising funds to support families raising premature babies. The March of Dimes enables mothers to enjoy healthy, full-term pregnancies and develops procedures to prevent future premature births. Collectively as chapters, we can help end prematurity. Over 15 million babies are born prematurely worldwide and more than a million die before their first birthday. Raise awareness and show your support by getting involved.
