Former Alexander High School Student Gives Back

The Alexander High School (AHS) Business Education Department and  Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) were pleased to host former student, Brandon Jordan of the Arch Advisory Group,  in the AHS auditorium. Mr. Jordan is a 2001 graduate of AHS where he was a three-sport varsity lettermen and a stellar academic student. He is now working as a Financial Planner and has a desire to give back to his hometown community. Stephen Beatty, the Assistant Principal at AHS, said that it was an incredible opportunity for AHS students to interact and ask questions with a financial professional who had participated in football, baseball and wrestling while excelling academically while a student at AHS.

Mr. Jordan is a managing partner at Arch Advisory Group, a financial services company located in Tyrone, Georgia. He began working in financial services in 2005 when he graduated from the University of Georgia.  He came back to AHS 16 years after graduating to share his story and to talk to the Financial Literacy, Accounting and Economics classes about “adulting” and handling their money as they move into adulthood. Current AHS student Elijah Daniel said that he enjoyed Mr. Jordan’s presentation and thought that his message was better received since he was once a student at AHS himself. Another student named Gracie Smallwood said that she was inspired to save money, and Kevin Houston, an AHS student, was surprised by the importance of minimizing student-loan debt. Also, a student by the name of Ethan Cole remarked that Mr. Jordan helped him to understand how decisions made while young can affect the rest of one’s life.
