We are fortunate enough to be citizens of one of the most exemplary free enterprise systems here in the United States. On November 15th, members across the nation will come together to celebrate our unique system that affords us the economic freedoms we exercise daily. This American Enterprise Day, get your chapter involved by celebrating through informative activities, projects, parties, games, or competitions.
In order to truly celebrate American Enterprise Day, you should first understand what the free enterprise system is. The free enterprise is a type of economy where products, prices, and services are determined by the market, not the government. Basically, the people have the power to control the prices, products, and the method they can acquire the goods and services.
Now that you know a little about what American Enterprise Day is, here are some ways to get your chapter aware and involved:
- Have a local business sponsor a tour
- Invite local business owners to be a guest speaker at your chapter meeting
- Hold a Dress for Success Day
- Create a mini market game to simulate the American economy
- Create flyers and post it around the school informing your peers about the free enterprise system
Come November 15th, be sure to take plenty of pictures of your chapter participating in the nationwide celebration and post on social media using the hashtags #gafbla and #AmericanEnterpriseDay to have a chance to be featured on Georgia FBLA’s page!
By participating in American Enterprise Day, you can also earn points for Chapter of the Year and use these activities to complete steps in the BAA and LEAD awards!
