Houston County High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) officer, Hope, attended training in Fort Valley, GA over the summer. Hope is the Region Vice President for Region 5. The training, Region Officer Academy, is designed to build the skills necessary for the individuals who occupy a position as an FBLA Region or State Officer.
Representatives from each region attend the weekend training at Camp John Hope. Hope was given the opportunity to work together with other regions and chapters, building leadership, social, speaking and vocational skills that they will use over the year. Activities included speaking competitions, icebreakers, speed games and other competitions.
Officers were grouped by regions and were able to rehearse their duties for the year, such as the Region Leadership Conference Awards of Excellence Ceremony and meeting with other chapters in the region. The officers were also able to meet individuals from other regions and build wonderful friendships. Region Officers are required to attend all FBLA conferences and trainings over the course of the year.
