The Bowdon High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) hosted the canned food drive for homecoming week involving all the schools in the community. Bowdon Elementary and Middle were contacted to begin collecting canned food and non-perishable items for the community food bank. Boxes were set up at both the middle and elementary school. The FBLA high school students decorated their collection boxes for each grade level in the spirit of homecoming festivities and placed them in the lobby. While each grade level donated food for the food bank they earned points for the homecoming spirit award! On Friday when the completion was over a few FBLA members helped to gather and count the donations. As over 1,100 items were stacked and counted in Mrs. Edwards’ room, the seniors came out on top by only 50 cans! All the items were then loaded up and taken to Bowdon Area United Christian Ministries (BAUCM) where they will be distributed to the real winners-our community!
