Loganville High School’s first FBLA chapter meeting of the year was held on August 18, 2016. The turnout surpassed expectations with 102 new and returning students in attendance, the most Loganville High has ever had in attendance. To get the students to interact and get to know each other we started the meeting off with “human bingo,” an activity where the students had to get signatures from others who fulfilled the criteria on the given bingo sheet. One example is that they had to find someone who had traveled to another country. The meeting continued with the introduction of the officers and advisers. Then, the officers began informing the students about LHS FBLA, our goals for this year, and what we’re all about. Also, in attendance was Emily S., activity director at Southern Plantation, an assisted living facility. LHS FBLA started working closely with Southern Plantation last year. Emily attended this first meeting to let the new students know about Southern Plantation and how they can get involved with the residents at Southern Plantation through FBLA. To wind down, the last information about other FBLA business was given out and the students helped themselves to refreshments.
