Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the physical Georgia FBLA State Leadership Conference was changed to a virtual conference. Several Metter High School FBLA members competed in online competitions before the conference. Members and advisers had the opportunity to watch the Awards Ceremony online from their homes.
During the virtual ceremonies, Metter High School FBLA was once again named a Gold Chapter in the state of Georgia for the 13th year in a row. The chapter was also recognized as a Superior Chapter for the 8th year in a row. MHS FBLA has received this award each year since this particular award’s inception. In addition to being a Gold and Superior Chapter, Metter High School FBLA placed 3rd overall in the prestigious Chapter of the Year competition. This makes the 11th year in a row that MHS FBLA has been in the Top 5 chapters in the entire state.
Metter High School FBLA placed 5th in Largest Local Chapter Membership – Professional Division with fifteen community members and business owners affiliated with the chapter. MHS FBLA also received recognition for being in the 100 Member Club.
Individual students who received recognition included Haley M. and Jeffery L. for serving as Region 4 Vice President and Region 4 Parliamentarian. Mary Ruth B. was awarded the Who’s Who in Georgia FBLA Region 4, received the Georgia FBLA Alumni Scholarship, and was recognized for achieving the top level of the Community Service Awards. Also competing in events were Brianna A., Mary Ruth B., Coby C., Zoie D., Kaitlyn D., Gracie G., Aeden I., Angel J., Jeffery L., Dylan L., David M., Haley M., Raj P., Ravi P., Tate W., and Sylvester W.
