Sonoraville High FBLA Heads to Nationals

On March 12, Sonoraville High School Future Business Leaders of America traveled to Athens for the State Leadership Conference. Members enjoyed the fun opening session and were able to meet with some of the other 4,000 members in attendance from across the state. Students participated in constructive workshops, including an interactive session led by state officers detailing how to start your own business while still in high school. In addition to workshops, students advancing from the Region Leadership Conference also competed in their events.

At the awards ceremony, Nick P. received eighth place in Public Speaking I. John G. and Kirsten Y. placed fifth in Banking and Financial Systems in their team event, with John individually qualifying for the National Leadership Conference. Catherine F. placed fifth in Future Business Leader. Alex N. clutched a fourth place win in Public Speaking II, qualifying him to compete at Nationals again for three years straight.

SHS national qualifiers will travel to Anaheim, California at the end of June to compete for national titles.
