Sonoraville High FBLA Participates in Motivational Rally

Twenty members, one adviser, and one chaperone traveled to Perry, Georgia on October 15, 2015 to attend the Georgia FBLA Fall Motivational Rally with over 9,200 additional FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) members from across the state of Georgia. Regional and State officers were recognized at the beginning of the FBLA Rally. SHS students Mikayla Whitfield, Catherine Farist, and Joann Graves were in the national parade of students where they were recognized for their Region 8 officer positions. Also, members Alex Naymick and John Graves were recognized for their placement at the National Leadership Conference.

FBLA members heard Bryant Collier, a great motivational speaker.  He captured the students’ attention by encouraging them to not give up on their dreams, no matter the challenge.  He taught the students the importance of having big dreams and not being afraid to fail. He also tied his message back into the state theme of “Share Your Story” by bringing in the use of social media, such as Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter. There was also a surprise performance by Silento, an FBLA member from Atlanta, famous for his new song, Watch me (Whip / Nae Nae).

The chapter also entered their club t-shirt and their club banner into the design competition. Individual members and teams also competed in business related subjects during the open testing events. Results from the competitions and tests will be announced in November in Athens, Georgia at the Fall Leadership Conference.
