A Charitable Contribution
Anish B., a dedicated and talented member of our local chapter, worked hard to reach Nationals. Here, he competed in Introduction to Parliamentary Procedures and had won 1st place. His victory came with a cash prize of 1,000 dollars. You would expect a 15-year-old teenager to put aside the money for college or for personal use, but Anish did differently.
When he visited Mayapur, India, Anish decided to donate the money to the Temple of Vedic Planetarium (TOVP). TOVP is a temple that focuses on presenting a planetarium according to how it is described in the Vedic scriptures. We asked why Anish decided to donate to this foundation. He said the reason he donated to this project is because it’s the only one of its kind which gives knowledge of the universe and its creation to future generations. Anish is an inspiring role model to all the members in our chapter. His altruism will not only benefit him as a person but also as a leader.
