Houston County High School FBLA had its first professional chapter meeting on September 15, 2015. During the meeting FBLA members had the opportunity to prepare to attend the Fall Leadership Conference, Regional Leadership Conference, and State Leadership Conference by learning how to professionally and efficiently tie a tie!
Chapter Officers Michael K., David P., and Tam T. were the facilitators of the workshop. They passed out official FBLA ties to each male and female member in the audience. Then, they each took turns explaining their own, unique method of tying a tie. Members enjoyed the experience and gave the facilitators excellent feedback.
“I did not know how to tie a tie before I joined FBLA,” said FBLA member Ronnie, “and now I feel more confident in my abilities. I can even help others out now because I know how to tie a tie!”
After the tie workshop, chapter officers Hope W. and Sasha L. did a brief workshop about Professional FBLA Dress. Utilizing a PowerPoint, the officers showed the males and females of Houston County High’s FBLA what clothing articles are appropriate to wear to Georgia FBLA conferences. They also showed each gender what they should NOT wear when attending a Georgia FBLA conference! Lastly, Hope and Sasha taught the females in the audience how to tie an official FBLA scarf.
The meeting concluded with refreshments and a social activity.
