MHS FBLA Attends SLOTS

Metter High School Future Business Leaders of America attended the Georgia FBLA Summer Leadership & Officer Training Summit (SLOTS) in Swainsboro, GA on July 20th. Four FBLA members attended the training summit where they learned their new officer positions for the upcoming year. Metter High School FBLA leadership team members attending SLOTS included Natalie Carter, Kusal Patel, Raj Patel, and Brooke Willis. Also attending with the local chapter officers were MHS FBLA Advisers Brenda Deal and Shayla Donaldson.

Officers attended the specialized position tracks where they learned more about their responsibilities as local chapter officers and how they could bring new and innovative ideas to MHS FBLA. Officers also learned new energizers, ice breakers, and leadership activities to use in their local chapter meetings. Brooke Willis was also given the opportunity to share a local chapter “success story” from the past year. Additionally, Raj Patel and Brooke Willis were introduced as Region 4 Officers.

SLOTS training is the beginning of the numerous conferences this year in which FBLA members participate. Officers and advisers discussed the different goals that they would like to achieve during the year. During this session the attendees discussed new ideas for the local chapter with state officers who were on hand to assist local chapter planning and lead leadership activities. We encourage all local high school students to join FBLA this year and become involved!
