4. TRIPS –Wouldn’t it be interesting to leave school to explore new places and things? FBLA has more than 3 major conferences in a school year. With at least 2 of them being overnight, it would be nice to take a couple days off school to gain leadership skills, attend workshops, meet new people, and just have fun!

5. FUTURE BUSINESS CAREERS –If you are looking into a career in the business field, I HIGHLY recommend joining FBLA. Not only does FBLA give you a head start in the business world, it also helps you by discovering your passion in business. What if before you join FBLA, you decided that you wanted to do Marketing, then ended up discovering that your true passion lies in Accounting after being in FBLA?

6. GAIN LEADERSHIP SKILLS –One of the main things FBLA is known for- gaining leadership skills. This is done by being active in FBLA and attending conferences. You would be surprised how much leadership techniques and skills you’d learn by joining FBLA and simply being an active member.

7. AWARDS –Everyone wants to be recognized for their accomplishments. In FBLA, there are competitive events that members compete in to gain awards and recognition for their knowledge and excellence.

8. COLLEGE PREP –Another good aspect about FBLA is that it helps prepare you even for future academics you may take in college. Most competitive events, like Public Speaking for instance, will help ready you for future presentations you may give to a professor in your college classroom.

9. COMMUNITY SERVICE –Majority of the high school students in the nation are required to have a certain amount of community service hours. In FBLA, there are many opportunities to earn hours. Your local advisor usually lets you know when an opportunity comes up. All you have to do is sign up, and participate!

10. GRADUATION RECOGNITION –Every high school with an FBLA chapter recognizes the seniors who have been active for the majority of the course of their high school years. Active members receive a cord on their graduation day to demonstrate their excellence in FBLA.
