American is home to one of the world’s freest enterprise systems and we are fortunate for the economic freedoms it affords individuals and businesses in the United States. FBLA members across the country pay tribute to our free enterprise system annually on November 15th, this day is known as American Enterprise Day. Chapters celebrate the day through activities, projects, parties, games, and competitions that pay tribute to the values we as FBLA members take advantage of every day. It also is a day where students teach other students about our free enterprise system.
Here are five ways your chapter can get involved on American Enterprise Day:
- Sponsor a tour of local businesses.
- Invitelocal business owners to come in and speak to students about the advantages and disadvantages of owning a business.
- Have a Dress for Success day
- Create a MONOPOLY® board featuring different economic systems and hold a tournament during a chapter meeting or economics class
- Have business students write essays on the American enterprise system
Here were just a few examples of how your chapters can celebrate American Enterprise Day. You may decide to try these or come up with your own. Whatever your choice may be we are excited to see what activities your chapters participate in.

By planning a celebration for American Enterprise Day, you could earn Chapter of the Year points! You can also use American Enterprise Day to complete some of your MAP and BAA awards.
- You can complete School/Community Service activity number two in the MAP Entrepreneur Level.
- Service activity number three in the BAA Future Level.
- Service activities numbers four and seven in the BAA Business Level.
- Service activities numbers three and sixteen in the BAA America Level.
