Parliamentary Procedure Tip of the Month #2

Howdy, Howdy, let’s get rowdy! NOT!  The entire purpose of parliamentary procedures is to conduct business in an organized and CIVILIZED manner. It is the job of the officers and advisers to ensure that everyone in the meeting is informed about the proper decorum. Robert’s Rules of Order, newly Revised states that decorum is “proper conduct”. My advice is to include a handout into your next meeting briefly stating the expectations for behavior and the consequences that will come from disruptive outbursts. Continually expressing proper decorum will enhance your parliamentary procedure experience.
