Shaw FBLA “Reads for the Record” with Eagle Ridge

(Columbus, GA)— Shaw High School FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) in Columbus, GA participated in “Read for the Record” with Eagle Ridge Academy On October 19, 2017. On this day millions of individuals come together to celebrate literacy and support Jumpstart in its efforts to promote early childhood literacy by reading the same book in homes and communities around the world. The children’s book Quackers by Liz Wong was selected as the book that was read this year.

Shaw FBLA students participated by reading in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classrooms at Eagle Ridge Elementary School. FBLA students who participated are Olivia Henry, Qunasha Daniel, Deion Sellers, Kelli Little, Amaia Weaver, Jaila Stathums, Meagan Barfield, Camren Davis, Chelsea Mahdi, Jadaisha Longchallon, Javian Ceasar, Antonia Trimiar, Joy Hood, and Caroline Johnson.

The FBLA student shown in the picture is Qunasha Daniel and Deion Sellers reading to Ms. Jones’ 2nd grade class. Shaw High School FBLA advisers are Melanie Boatner, Danielle Maddox, Michelle Nichols, and Kim White.
