On October 31, 2018 we had our Halloween Social. At the social we had so much fun. We had cake, candy, drinks, and more. We played our own version of Wild N’ Out which was really fun. We had two groups and one of the officers picked out a random object and one of the groups had to act out a skit using the random item. Which ever group was the funniest won. We also had other games to play like Uno, Jenga and other board games. We enjoyed networking and socializing with each other.

Bowdon High School Future Business Leaders of America attend Southern Interactive Entertainment & Game Expo (SIEGE)
On October 4, 2018, 18 students from Bowdon High School FBLA attended the SIEGE College Fair. The Georgia Game Developers Association, Inc. has sponsored the Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo for the past 12 years. While most people are aware of video games as an entertainment product, there exists a general lack of awareness that game development requires highly-educated and specialized skill sets in physics modeling, artificial intelligence, massively-scalable networking infrastructures, digital security, graphic design, 3D animation, project management, and intellectual property law, among others. The students moved through several workshops learning about career opportunities, college degrees, free resources, and even how to create their own game! They enjoyed a college fair where they received information from several colleges offering a variety of Computer Science degrees. They had the opportunity to talk with college students and exhibitors about many new and exciting paths of study.
On September 12, 2018 the Bleckley County FBLA Ch. 4622 hosted an officer installation and new member induction ceremony. The chapter hosted a meeting for the members from 5 to 6. During this meeting we played several ice breakers and team building activities. We also provided snacks and drinks for the members while we told them about the happenings in our organization. The middle and high school chapters met together to have the meeting and the ceremony.
After the meeting parents and members came to the BCHS lunchroom for the ceremony. We began by inducting our 2018-2019 FBLA high school officers. Each officer was read the responsibilities of their position and had to light their color candle. Later in the ceremony the officers spoke to the members and parents about FBLA. Then, the members were inducted by saying the FBLA pledge. We ended the night by speaking with parents, members, and taking multiple pictures.
On Friday, September 28th the Bleckley County High school chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) along with other CTSO organizations, including Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and Health Occupation Student Association (HOSA) participated in raising money and awareness for breast and prostate cancer. Together we sold pink and blue t-shirts prior to the football game, collected donations at the game and held a balloon release at the game for all the people who have been affected by, were suffering from, or knew someone who had prostate or breast cancer. All together we raised lots of money and awareness for these causes as well as a greater appreciation for those affected by cancer.
